A federal magistrate judge has suggested the possibility of sanctions for the RIAA’s lawyers in a case involving 27 college students. At issue is the RIAA’s practice of lumping unrelated defendants into a single “John Doe” case and then pursuing individual lawsuits once the Does’ identities are learned.
